Bush Accepts Responsibility for Gitmo
In today's press conference President Bush accepted responsibility for Guantanamo. He admitted he made the decision to send these prisoners to the Cuban base. Answering a question regarding last week's Supreme Court decision the President revealed an appalling lack of understanding about what the Justices said. He seems to think it was a narrow decision affecting only the military tribunals for a limited number of prisoners. He seems to think he can easily override the Court's objections by getting Congress to enact law supporting the tribunals.
George, READ SOMETHING. For a change read the actual decision before making a fool out of yourself on national television. That is NOT what the Justices said and Congressional action cannot override the Geneva Conventions, which he also mis-stated.
It's shocking that the President of the United States can be SO misinformed.
