Al-Zarqwari
Is it possible to believe anything the Bush Administration tells us? Now we discover Abu Musab al-Zarqwari's death wasn't exactly as it was portrayed by the White House. No one I know is mourning the death of this monster. But why did they lie about it? So he didn't die instantly and tried to say something to his captors before expiring. Who cares, it wasn't important but they lied about it anyway. Is there nothing they won't lie about? Do they simply lie so routinely they do it automatically, like blinking their eyes or breathing?
We also need to remember that Zarqwari wasn't the reason we invaded Iraq. He was a low level terrorist who was holed up in a part of Iraq thet Saddam had no control over. Hussein wasn't harboring this guy, Iran was in a town along the border they effectively controlled. It wasn't until we invaded Iraq that he became this monster terrorist. We made al-Zarqwari what he was just like we created Osama bin Laden by our actions in Afghanistan and Saudi Arabia. There's a lesson to be learned from this. We need to fully consider the long term consequences of our actions in the Muslim world and how they will affect us in the long term. We need to understand the Muslim religeon, culture, and mind much better than we do. We also need to learn how to fight insurgencies. We've failed miserably on all these matters and it's made us less safe.
We lost 3,000 people on September 11th but Osama still walks free, along with Mullah Omar and Zawahiri. We failed in Afghanistan and now the Taliban is having a considerable renaissance. We've lost 2500 more Americans fighting in Iraq while letting the real terrorists, those who actually attacked us, go free.
To add salt to the wound, Ann Coulter attacks the widows of 9/11 for daring to criticize this madness. I keep thinking this woman can't say anything more ridiculous or extreme but she keeps proving me wrong. Hate is hate folks and she spews it forth like no one else. There's only one solution for the fair haired lady of hate, turn her off. If she/he appears on your tv screen turn it off or change channels. Watching her and giving the shows she appears on ratings just inspires her to say more ridiculous things.
