Franklin County Dems Hosting Video and Discussion
FRANKLIN COUNTY DEMOCRATS TO
“RENDEZVOUS FOR OUR RIGHTS”
Chambersburg – On Tuesday July 18, beginning at 7 p.m., the Franklin County Democratic Party will show the video “Stop the Abuse of Power,” followed by a discussion on the government’s abuses of power, and what we, as citizens can do to take back our democracy and protect our civil and Constitutional rights.
This event is one of a series of “Rendezvous for Our Rights” parties being held across the country in upcoming weeks. The video, produced by the ACLU, “connects the dots” about recent abuses of power by the Bush administration, including the misuse of military tribunals, illegal spying on Americans, and demands for personal records from libraries and other institutions.
The event will be held at the Franklin County Democratic Headquarters, located at 85 N. Main Street in Chambersburg. Admission is free, but contributions to the Franklin County Democratic Party are welcomed. Light refreshments will be served.
The Franklin County Democratic Party hosts “Movie Nights” at 7 p.m. on the third Tuesday of each month. For a complete schedule of party activities, or to learn more, please visit www.FranklinCountyDems.org.
For more information about this event, please contact Beth Shupp-George at chair@franklincountydems.org or 717-398-8341 (cell) or 717-262-4328 (home).
