Santorum Stem Cell Bill Loses

An alternative stem cell research bill introduced by Rick Santorum (R-VA) to provide political cover for their opposition to real stem cell research went down to defeat yesterday 273-154. A two thirds majority was needed under the rules so the bill fell twelve votes short. The proposed legislation was introduced so the Senator could mislead voters this year by implying he supported this popular issue. He doesn't.
