New Bill Would Legalize Murder

The proposed legislation in Harrisburg commonly referred to as the "No Retreat" act would legalize murder in Pennsylvania. All a suspect need say is that the victim posed a threat to them. If you're walking down a street, your trusty jandgun tucked in your belt and someone says something you don't like, looks askance at you in what you may feel is a threatening manner, you can pull out that gun and shoot them down. Legally. Who's to say that they victim did anything of the sort? After all, in this game of he said, he said, one of the "he's" isn't going to be testifying.

This bill will return us to the days of the wild, wild west when there was no law and order on our streets. Yes, I understand many of you are saying we already have that situation in Philadelphia, Reading and Allentown. Then why make it worse? Every drug gang member will be packing now and shooting anyone they don't like. If you don't like the way that drag queen exiting a bar looked at you simply shoot her down. This would be a double defense, combining the odious gay panic defense with legally justified murder. That nasty neighbor who refuses to comply with your attitudes? Mow them down next time they're outside. That teenager riding an ATV over your fields? Simple solution, pow.

The bottom line is there's no accountability as to whether these street killings would be justified or not. All this will do is pour gasoline on an already out of control fire. If this is the best solution to a serious problem facing Pennsylvanians it's time to get rid of every single legislator purporting to support it, starting with Sam Rohrer.
