PA-48th Senate Hits the News
Lots of news and speculation about Chip Brightbill's open seat includes all or parts of Lebanon, Berks, Dauphin, Lancaster, and Chester counties. Keystone Politics reports a third candidate entering the race. Lancaster County Republican Bray Brunkhurst from Mt. Gretna says he will run as a Green. Talk about strange bedfellows, a Republican from Lancaster running as a Green? What has the world come to? How desperate are the Green Party officials for legitimate candidates that they'd accept someone from the GOP?
John Latimer of the Lebanon Daily News wrote several articles concerning the race and all have interesting news. In one Democrat John Liss explains, again in the press, discussions and meetings that have taken place behind closed doors to assess and develop strategy for his campaign. Why doesn't he just develop a campaign plan and hand it to the press to publish?
In another article Latimer writes about GOP dissatisfaction with their candidate Mike Folmer. This is getting ridiculous as it seems neither major party is happy with its candidate and is wary of their chances. Republicans are naturally skittish about someone (Folmer) who used to be a Democrat until switching parties. This is a natural tendency in parties. The rank and file aren't very familiar with the person and have a natural distrust about their ideology. There's also a hint of do we really trust this guy or will he change back?
