Exhibit A for Stronger Labor Laws
I stumbled across this article at PennLive.com about a Greensburg teen who was forced by his employer to work 16 hours. After clocking out at 3 am he crashed his truck on the way home. It isn't simply that they violated a couple dozen laws, but his stepfather complained about the violations and the Ramada Inn denied them. Nothing like making an underage kid work in the bar (where he obviously indulged a bit himself), and work them to death (literally in this case) but many in the state legislature wanted to make sure teens like this don't even earn minimum wage.
We need stronger labor laws, we need stronger labor unions, and we need stronger enforcement before more workers die.
