Repubs Choose DeLay Successor

Texan Republicans have chosen a new candidate to replace the corrupt Tom DeLay in their 22nd Congressional District. With this decision the crooked Congressman has finally been exterminated from Washington. He's moved to Virginia anyway so he didn't live in his old district any longer. I wonder if he's a neighbor to Santorum there in Leesburg?

If you recall, this Congress, in its first official vote, allowed the ethics rules to be eased so as to preserve DeLay's position in leadership. Jim Gerlach of the PA-6 cast his first actual vote in Congress to support DeLay in this maneuver. Gerlach also accepted money from DeLay's PAC, the same one which has landed him in a lot of hot water. As yet Mr. Gerlach has refused to return that dirty money.

I'm sure DeLay will have lots of time to join his K Street lobbyist buddies on the golf course. He should get those rounds in with former staffer Jack Abramoff before he's hauled off to prison though.
