Memo to Lynn Swann: It's About Jobs!

Lynn Swann is criticizing Ed Rendell for not doing enough to move people from welfare to work. He's been running ads in western PA accusing the incumbent of failure. He says not enough people are being put to work. I find a major flaw in Swann's logic: jobs. It seems to me there have to be jobs available for these people to get. When George Bush took office and destroyed our economic growth with voodoo economics jobs went south, many quite literally.

Our economy must create 120,000 new jobs every month just to keep pace with the rise in population. There have been scant few months we've acheived even that milestone under Bush. No jobs means more welfare Lynn. Sorry to burst your bubble. This man keeps showing he has no grasp of the issues.
