WASHINGTON - Saddam Hussein rejected overtures from al-Qaida and believed Islamic extremists were a threat to his regime, a reverse portrait of an Iraq allied with Osama bin Laden painted by the Bush White House, a Senate panel has found.

Well no Shit!!!! It only took how many years to figure that out.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President George W. Bush hopes to revive his plan to overhaul the U.S. Social Security retirement program if his Republican party keeps control of the Congress in the November midterm elections, the Wall Street Journal reported on Saturday.

Sounds like he and Santorum been talking again. The Blind leading the stupid.

WASHINGTON - The former No. 2 State Department official said Thursday he inadvertently disclosed the identity of CIA employee Valerie Plame in conversations with two reporters in 2003.

Confirming that he was the source of a leak that triggered a federal investigation, former Deputy Secretary of State Richard Armitage said he never intended to reveal Plame's identity. He apologized for his conversations with syndicated columnist Robert Novak and Washington Post reporter Bob Woodward.

Of course he never intended to reveal her identity. He just wanted to tell 2 reporters who she was. Does this guy really think we're THAT fucking stupid?

WASHINGTON - President Bush pressed Congress on Saturday to approve his plan for prosecuting suspected terrorists, a proposal lawmakers could debate as early as next week.

"As soon as Congress acts to authorize these military commissions, we will prosecute these men and send a clear message to those who kill Americans: No matter how long it takes, we will find you and bring you to justice," Bush said in his weekly radio address. "As we bring terrorists to justice, we're acting to secure the homeland."

Exactly what kind of justice will that be. Open court of law type justice, or backroom military gulag type justice? How soon until regular folks end up in front of "military commissions"? This stinks and we all know it's Un-American.

WASHINGTON - President Bush will make a prime-time address from the Oval Office on Monday to mark the fifth anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks.

Snow said Bush's address would not be a political speech or a charge to Congress for action. Rather, he said, it would be reflective of what Sept. 11 has meant and "how we move ahead as a country in making use of the lessons of Sept. 11."

Well whop-dee-fuckin-doo. We all know what 9/11 meant and still means...we were there. And I can't help notice that Osama is STILL FREE. But nearly as many soldiers have died in Iraq as has died on 9/11/2001. Iraq just doubles the tragedy of 9/11. The real tragedy is that Iraq was so unnecessary.

WASHINGTON - President Bush says he believes Republicans will retain control of the Congress after the November elections, even as members of his own party predict a loss of some seats.

We believe Bush lives in a world of his own making and will believe the GOP still controls Congress even if they don't.

Halliburton subsidiary Kellogg, Brown & Root charged millions to the government for recreational services never provided to U.S. troops in Iraq, including giant tubs of chicken wings and tacos, a widescreen TV, and cheese sticks meant for a military Super Bowl party, according to a federal whistle-blower suit unsealed Friday.

Instead, the suit alleges, KBR used the military's supplies for its own football party.

Nice one...fuck the troops, the government and the taxpayers. Now THAT'S the Amerikan way!

SPOKANE, Wash. - Former Gonzaga University President John Leary was involved in the sexual abuse of boys and young men in the 1960s, but the priest's actions were covered up by Jesuit officials, the Oregon Province of the Society of Jesus said Friday.

That's right...cover it up. After all, you're a church, you can't possibly do the MORAL thing now can you. Hypocrites!
