Romanelli Calls for Senate Race Debates

Carl Romanelli, don't hold your breath. The Green Party candidate for U.S. Senate has reportedly been in discussions with GOP Senator Rick Santorum to set up a schedule of debates. PoliticsPA.com is posting a press release from Romanelli calling on Democratic candidate Bob Casey Junior to join the discussions. No chance Carl. There's no rational way Casey would debate Santorum anytime, anywhere. If he does his staff should be fired.

Polls are showing a wide gap that is rarely seen for a twelve year incumbent like Santorum. Rick just keeps shooting himself in the foot and increasing Casey's lead while the Democrat lies low. Casey's staff should schedule a long overseas trip for the state Treasurer, not a series of debates. Get him on the QE II or something. The worst thing Casey can do is speak to voters or be seen in a debate. He's a bad candidate and a worse speaker. He doesn't represent mainstream values and the primary debates simply exposed that. They also exposed his inability to speak.

These debates aren't going to happen. Santorum is desperate to have them and they can only raise Romanelli's profile but they'd only hurt Casey so they won't happen. There's no way Bob's strategists could be that stupid, even if they are from Washington.
