Senators Not Briefed on Financial Spying

Think Progress is reporting on an interview with Senator Diane Feinstein that the Senate Intelligence Committee was NOT briefed on the financial/Swift spying program. George W. Bush is being called out, again, as a liar. He was also violating the law. Again. Of course Bush doesn't feel he needs to obey any law with which he doesn't agree. He's issued over 750 signing statements to that effect.

Federal law dictates that the Executive Branch brief the Intelligence Committees on all programs and activities. Bush neglected to do so with this program. Only when it was clear The New York Times was ready to disclose yet another invasion of Americans' privacy did they comply with the law and brief the Committees.
