Freedom Is On the March in Connecticut

Ned Lamont, an upstart candidate who was polling as low as 16% last spring, was victorious yesterday in Connecticut's Democratic primary. Joe Loserman immediately showed his true colors, and why he got that nickname, by declaring he will run as an independent.

Ned Lamont came into this campaign as a true progressive voice. Tagged as a one issue, anti war candidate by Loserman, he was anything but and the voters responded. There were many reasons for this victory and they'll be rehashed, but kudos go to Lamont and his staff for a job well done.

Pennsylvania's progressives don't have much to do this year. With anti-choice, anti-gay, pro war candidates running for the Senate Ned Lamont is someone you can contribute to and volunteer for. Connecticut isn't that far away and you can donate funds directly through his website. If you haven't had the inclination to give to our Democrat running in Pennsylvania (and looking through his FEC reports no one much but lawyers have), please consider supporting Ned.

Joe Lieberman proved to be a sore loser last night. He also showed he has no respect for the political process. He illustrated why Lamont's campaign painted him as "not a real Democrat" by immediately bolting the Party after his defeat. There's a sure fire method you can aid Mr. Loserman with "de-feet:" make sure Ned Lamont wins in November so Joe gets his "walking papers."

Having a third candidate can seriously jeopardize this seat in a very blue state. We must insure Lamont receives the support necessary to win. You might also want to send a bunch of sour grapes to Lieberman's campaign headquarters as a message. I'd put a link to his website so you'd have the address but since the man was too cheap to pay for a real website his went down Monday. Fifteen bucks a month doesn't buy you much of a website folks. It says a lot about the lack of interest in his campaign that it didn't crash long ago.
