Photo Op In Baghdad
Well by now it's all over the news that Bush went on a Super Secret hyper-macho and extremely short trip to Iraq to privately meet with the Iraqi Prime Minister.
OK so first, how much did this 5 or 6 hour trip cost the taxpayers?
Second, the meeting wasn't private, it was in front of a sea of cameras and reporters (can you say PHOTO OP?)
Third, hasn't our President ever heard of a telephone?
Why did the leader of the free world (how depressing is that?) travel thousands of miles to sit in front of cameras to have a private meeting with a man he says he's been talking to on the phone for months? Because he wanted to meet him face to face.
It seems to me that the PHOTO OP was designed to give Bush a bounce in his poll numbers. Maybe if they say Bush's numbers are bouncing enough, brain-dead morons will tell the pollsters when they call how proud they are of him and there will be a bounce.
Of course, the administration seems to forget that the term "bounce" implies something that goes up and then comes back down.
This really was nothing more than a horrendously expensive PHOTO OP to help Bush get his poll numbers up. Maybe it will, until the next story of lying, spying, torturing or heaven only knows what other horror emerges from the White House.
Apparently this administration thinks we are all dumb as rocks.
