Voting Rights Advocates Sue
Groups seeking to have the Commonwealth decertify "paperless" electronic voting machines filed a new suit today. Electronic voting machines have been associated with election fraud in several states. Advocates fighting them say they are designed for fraud and provide no assurances that votes are tabulated exactly as cast. They maintain there is no such thing as a secure, hack free computer. In fact, Diebold voting machines have been hacked in trials and have been proved to be designed to facilitate fraud.
Mary Ann Gould, of the Coalition for Voting Integrity, has said the right to vote is the very foundation of our democracy. She maintains that insuring the integrity of the vote is the only way to preserve our freedoms.
