Franklin County Dems Picnic

Scotland - The Franklin County Democratic Party will hold its annual Picnic and Family Fun Day on Saturday August 19 from noon to 5 p.m. at the Scotland Memorial Park Picnic Pavilion, rain or shine.

The featured guest will be Lt. Governor Catherine Baker Knoll, who is scheduled to speak around 1:30 p.m.

Musical guests will be The Swing States Road Show (www.leajonesmusic.com), performing around 12:15 p.m. and Watermelon Sugar (www.watermelonsugar.com) who will take the stage around 3:45 p.m.

Other guests scheduled to attend include Tony Barr, candidate for Congress in the 9th District; Andrew Alosi, candidate for State Representative in the 89th District; Patrick Naugle, candidate for State Representative in the 91st District; and Gen. Gerald T. Sajer, speaking on behalf of Bob Casey for PA; as well as local activists, elected officials, and party leaders.

Admission is free and all supporters of the Democratic Party are invited to attend. Food for sale will include hamburgers, hotdogs, hot links, side dishes, desserts and soft drinks.

A raffle and yard sale will benefit the local Democratic Party, and information and merchandise will be available from the Party, candidates, and area activists. There is a children’s playground area nearby.
