Lobbyist Reform Kentucky Style
This seems like a good model to follow. Kentucky has enacted some very good lobbying reforms, limiting what lobbyists can spend on any legislator in a year to $100. What's more every cup of coffee has to be reported. Since James Carville's infamous line about Pennsylvania: Philly, Pittsburgh and Pennsyltucky in between, adopting Kentucky's model may be just what the doctor ordered to clean up some of the mess in Harrisburg.
While reducing the size of the legislature is a great idea unless we pass strict campaign finance and lobbying reform laws not much will change. It's the culture of Harrisburg as much as its expense that's the problem.
