Swann May Receive Presidential Fundraising Assistance

Gubernatorial candidate Lynn Swann, whose failed campaign against Ed Rendell has barely gotten off the ground may receive a boost from George W. Bush according to the Patriot News. Swann trails Rendell 10-1 in fund raising but an event with the President could reduce some of that disadvantage.

Of course, as W's own approval ratings suffer a swan dive as the Iraqi insurgency continues, this could come back to haunt the GOP candidate. Being coupled with a very unpopular President could be the death knell for a campaign already on life support. Betting on such an event would be rolling the dice for someone who seems so opposed to gambling.

Meanwhile Lynn Swann continues not to provide any evidence or documentation to support serious allegations he made against members of the Rendell Administration accusing them of threatening to withold state contracts to those who support Swann. Put up or shut up Lynn. It's past time for a public apology. This commercial writes itself.
