Floyd Landis and the Culture of Cheating

So far I've shied away from commenting on the entire Floyd Landis, Tour de France scandal. I mean, why pile on? As the story keeps going on and he continues with one outlandish "explanation" after another, I'm insulted. Insulted because this man must think I'm stupid. Really stupid. You too, all of us. How stupid does he think we are? His A sample had synthetic testosterone. So did the B sample. You cheated buddy. Real simple, you cheated and got caught.

Why can't anyone simply admit when they've screwed up? We all make mistakes. I make them, you make them, everyone does. You have to correct those mistakes and apologize when they're as big as this is. Be a man Floyd.

Landis appeared on the Tonight Show with yet another lame excuse: it was something he ate. Yea Floyd, you shouldn't have gone down on your teammates. That's the only excuse I'll believe at this stage.

This goes deeper than just Floyd Landis. It's the steroids in baseball, track, wrestling, all over sports. It's Jack Abramoff and the culture of corruption in Washington. It's the pay raise grabbers in Harrisburg, embezzlers in your local business. It's men cheating on the golf course and married couples cheating on each other, people cheating on their taxes. The culture of cheating is running amok.

I'm sick and tired of cheaters and Floyd is right at the top of my list right now.
