WTF is Wrong With Us?
Are we on Crack? Collectively, as a nation I mean? We have apparently lost our collective minds and allowed our leaders to run amok.

I wish blogspot somehow allowed me to make that number even larger. 14 freaking thousand people.
That's obscene. So I ask again...have we lost our collective minds in allowing our leaders to do this to other human beings?
It's no great wonder that the Islamic world think they're in the midst of a second crusade...THEY ARE!
Imagine being whisked away, not told why, not shown any evidence and then tortured by CIA operative in an overseas prison. Now Bush wants to establish clear rules for the military. I can't help notice how he's excluding the CIA from those rules.
What the fuck is wrong with us as a nation that we are allowing this to happen?
9/11 was a horrific moment in our lives... point granted, I was there. I get it. After the 1941 bombing of Pearl Harbor this nation knee jerked itself into putting all Japanese Americans into "internment" camps so we could protect ourselves from spies and sabotuers.
Now we are making the same mistake again 60 years later. Except this time our "internment" camps are in secret locations around the world and we cover it up and try to keep it secret. Apparently we have not gotten one damn bit smarter in 60 years.
Let me ask you something folks. Why do we keep things secret? The government sometimes has reason to keep things secrets, like the identity of our intelligence agents (unless of course it's the wife of a government official who has annoyed them).
But sometimes people keep secrets because they know what they doing is wrong and they might get in trouble if someone found out. Sometimes it's not illegal but just immoral and unethical so you keep it secret because you know people would be ashamed of you if they knew what you are doing.
Shame is a powerful emotion...so is guilt. It's something our current administration seems to have excised from their soul.
I'm glad I'm not that cold-hearted.
I cannot fathom how this can happen. We've asked it of others and now I ask it of the citizenry....have we no decency?
